STS PETER & PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOL GETS NEW PRINCIPAL

July 15, 2024Most Rev. Jerome Feudjio appointed Dr Dora Cerge as principal of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic School. He made the appointment public over the weekend Masses of July 13 - 14 2024.
The Appointment
The Bishop’s statement reads in part: “After due reflection, prayers, and consultation, I, Most Reverend Jerome Feudjio, Bishop endowed and charged with the functioning and governance of the Diocese of Saint Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, have appointed Dr. Dora Cerge as the new Principal of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School.”
Dr Cerge will take the helm of affairs as from the 2024/2025 Academic Year, with admissions having kicked off already in Sts Peter and Paul School.
She replaces Mrs Maria Daniel, who has been in charge of the school since 2020. The former principal had prior to that served as acting Principal when the need arose.
This appointment follows that of the Vice Principal few weeks before. Fr Ronan Sarmiento, ordained earlier in June 2024, was named to this function as his second pastoral assignment following his ordination to the priesthood.
Dr Cerge
A former graduate of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic School, and holder of a Doctorate in Education from the Northcentral University of Arizona, Dr. Dora Cerge is a passionate educator and certified teacher.
She has over 30 years of experience, teaching in both private and public schools, with an understanding of life in the Virgin Islands. “The new principal brings along her skills in teaching and collaborative work and a deep insight into the school environment”, the Bishop’s statement read.
Listed among her skills are strong e-learning and technology skills, her strong ability to convey concepts and ability to work with others.St Peter and Paul Catholic School
The Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School is one of the historical jewels of the US Virgin Islands. It was established as an elementary school in 1924. Due to the support and need, it was expanded in 1946 to a high school.
The outstanding institution with a combination of elementary, middle, and high school graduated its first class in 1950. Ever since, it has educated countless children, who have gone on to build amazing careers on the foundations laid by the school in their intellectual, moral, and social lives.
