Overview
Welcome to the Vocation Promotion page of the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. We are delighted that you are exploring the possibility of a priestly vocation. Our mission is to support and guide you on this spiritual journey, helping you discern God's call and respond with faith and courage.
A vocation is a unique calling from God to live a life of holiness and service, whether through the priesthood, religious life, or lay ministry. In our diocese, we are blessed with dedicated priests, religious sisters, and lay ministers who play a vital role in our community's spiritual and pastoral life. However, our primary focus is to guide young men who want to discern the call to the Catholic ministerial priesthood, to serve in the Diocese.

How to Discern
Discerning a vocation to the priesthood is a profound and personal journey. Here are some steps to help you discern God's call:
- Prayer: Spend time in prayer, seeking God's guidance and listening to His voice.
- Reflection: Reflect on your gifts, talents, and desires. How can you best serve God and His people?
- Seek Guidance: Talk to a spiritual director, your Pastor, or mentor who can provide support and insight, or get to our Vocation's Office.
- Participate in Retreats: Join vocation retreats to deepen your understanding and connect with others on a similar path.

Donate to Support VocationsThe formation of future priests for our diocese requires significant investment, with each seminarian's education costing approximately $40,000 annually. A Prayer for Vocations
Heavenly Father, we ask that You bless our diocese with an abundance of vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and lay ministry. Inspire the hearts of men and women to respond generously to Your call. Grant them the courage and strength to follow Your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
